Description
Counterweight (aequipondium) from a large public scales (statera) found in the Tarraco port area. Exceptionally heavy (38 kg), such items could weigh more than 1,500 kg. It represents the Aequitas (Equity), the protector numen of fair transactions and public order in market weights and measures.
