Slightly incomplete iron knife (lacking both ends). The back of the blade is curved downward toward the end zone while the handle includes two rivets as fastening system for the handle (which, being organic matter, has not survived).
This object comes from the site of the Pla de les Tenalles and is dated in the third century BC, but its morphology corresponds to a long tradition that began in the early Iron Age. It is multifunctional equipment that could have served for personal or domestic use or even in agricultural work as occasionally it might also be used to prune and graft.
