Pentagonal-shaped fragment that must have been part of a larger plaque. It is the upper central part of an unmoulded plate, smooth on the back, of soft limestone, perhaps the so-called Alcover stone.
[...] PORCIV [S ...]
[...] IDA [...]
This is the first evidence of the name PORCIVS on a non-ceramic object. Due to its palaeographic and petrographic characteristics, it could be Marcus Porcius, the same character who produced wine amphorae during the period of maximum splendour of the city of Baetulo, thanks to the abundant production of Laietan wine. The inscription was thrown into a silo in the 6th century AD.
