Small pot, globular body, slightly concave bottom, neck and everted rim. Reconstructed from 29 fragments. Fired in a reducing atmosphere and formed on a slow wheel, the vessel has grey clay, slightly refined, with limestone inclusions. It was found in Sector 03 (Roman cistern - quarry) during the 1989 excavation, inside a silo carved into the rock.
The pot is the most common form among medieval ceramics. Of different sizes, they are characterised by the globular shape and everted rim, and in reducing ceramics, finished carelessly. In some cases, they display decoration with horizontal, broken or intersecting lines. The pots were intended for cooking food. They usually have a darkened base due to constant exposure to fire.
