Terracotta female, 30 cm high, made with a mould, representing a nude woman standing with arms forward in an attitude of offering. The right leg and some elements of the hands have been reconstructed.
She is wearing a plain diadem. under which the hair is highlighted with horizontal incisions. The face, nose and eyes are very marked. The breasts are slightly accentuated and the navel is large and round. Large, very well-formed earrings, that simulate human heads and rosettes, hang from her ears. Around the neck, she has a necklace with acorn-shaped beads.
No one knows precisely what these terracota represent. Maybe in some cases it's the goddess Astarte, but the figures are likely to be priestesses or the faithful who are represented in an attitude of worship or prayer.
The majority, or a significant part, would have been originally polychrome, although today the colour is lost. Some preserved remains suggest that much of the surface was painted white, while red was used for the lips and blue and black for the eyes and eyebrows. The clothes sometimes shows traces of red lines that stand out on the white background, and even fine gold leaf has been identified, applied on the clay.
