Rigid plate belt brooch. This object, made of bronze, is broken at the head, but retains much of the body, which tends towards a lyriform shape, and the buckle. That is rectangular in shape and with the outer angles ending with small circular appendages that are purely ornamental. At the end of the plate and on the axis of symmetry of the buckle you can see a circular hole where the pin, which is now missing, was located.
The upper part of the brooch is profusely adorned with stylized and geometric plant motifs, engraved with a burin. In some places, the metal was also cut back to give more volume to the decoration. On the back of the plate, on the other hand, there are transversely perforated protrusions that were used to fasten the leather strip of the belt.
The Visigoth settlement of Vilauba (5th-7th century AD), founded just next to the old Roman villa once it had been abandoned, consisted of a minimum of three houses with the respective courtyards and a press, perhaps for communal use.
