Roman-era whistle dated in the 1st-2nd centuries AD and from Empúries (L'Escala, Alt Empordà). It is decorated on both sides with two groups of incisive concentric circles and with the distal end turned. A circular perforation crosses it from the proximal end and at the same time serves as an entrance and exit hole for the air, by means of a bevelled reduction cut into the top.
It entered the museum in a purchase as part of a batch of various objects, from the systematic plundering of the Emporitan necropolis, in 1905.
