Description
Official portrait of the young Emperor Marcus Aurelius aged 23, a model that was used until he ascended the throne (161 AD). Found during the excavation of of the so-called "Pou Cartanyà" in the Tarraco Colonial Forum sector. This portrait of the emperor Marcus Aurelius (161 - 180 AD) is one of the best preserved in the National Archaeological Museum of Tarragona's collection of imperial portraits.
