An ovoid-shaped amphora, of the type called Tarraconense 1 / Laietana 1, it is one of the first local productions of this type of container used to contain and transport wine, mainly from the Catalan coast. It has a marked edge and is slightly open with a small outer rim, without a seal. The neck and the handles are short, the handles have a double incised line. The foot is marked. It retains part of the white slip. It is one of the few complete pieces of this form found in Baetulo.
Although some scholars (Lopez; Martín, 2007) establish the chronology of the appearance of La Tarraconense 1 / Laietana 1 amphorae in 60-50 BC, they coexisted with Pascual 1, very abundant in Baetulo and which appeared strongly in 40-30 BC.
This specimen was found whole, dumped with a group of more than 15 amphorae and various pieces of ceramic tableware, in a silo in the Villa de la Estrella, dated to the second half of the 1st century AD.
