Description
Large painted common Iberian pottery container. It has a globular shape with umbilicate bottom and everted lip. It was fired in irregular conditions, which gives it orange and grey tones. Its diameter at the shoulder is about 45 cm. The maximum height is 57 cm. The mouth diameter is about 25 cm. It has not preserved handles at the top or a pouring spout at the bottom, although it probably had them. The shape is irregular (oval shape seen in the mouth and shoulder area). White paint was applied for its decoration. It displays parallel horizontal lines between 1.5 and 2 cm wide in the lower and middle area, as well as in the neck. The decoration in this last part is made up of semicircles and concentric circles as well as parallel wavy lines.
