Ceramic jug fired in reducing conditions that corresponds to the cannata form. The vessel, intended for the containment and transport of liquids, has a large globular body, a flat base, a circular mouth with a slightly flared rim and a side spout. At the functional level it may be thought that the liquid was filled through the mouth and was served through the spout.
Although the cannata, as such, has not survived to the present day, the precedent of the pitcher can be seen in its form.
