A couple of gold earrings from Empúries (L'Escala, Alt Empordà), dated in the 1st century AD. They are formed by a thread with the thicker central part and thinner ends to be linked together and close the earrings. Elements of adornment in the Roman world were a demonstration of status and not only an aesthetic element, as the jewellery was made of metals and precious stones.
