Description
These lanterns produced in Rome were part of the ship's cargo. They were usually decorated with various motifs such as depictions of animals, characters, geometric shapes ... although they could also be completely plain without decoration. The decoration of these lanterns depicts a scorpion, an elephant's head, an erotic scene and a floral motif.
