Weight loom from the Iberian settlement of San Antonio (Calaceite, Matarraña, Teruel).
Small piece of clay with a hole made at the top when the clay was still soft. It has complex decoration of incised lines that intersect the sides forming diamonds and stamps impressed on the sides and back.
This weight loom was recovered in the excavations of the Iberian village of San Antonio de Calaceite, conducted by the Institute of Catalan Studies, under the direction of Pere Bosch Gimpera (1915-1919).
Its use is related to weaving, in this case a small loom, perhaps the waist type to make borders. It is a weight which, together with similar ones arranged in the loom, would keep the warp threads stretched.
