Description
A miniature Iberian jug in grey ceramic, "from the Catalan coast". It has a cylindrical body with the central part thinned, a flat bottom, narrow neck and an out-turned rim, on which a small vertical handle allows it to be held. Numerous small objects have been found in the Iberian settlement of Mas Castell, including kraters, cups and various vessels. These objects have traditionally been identified as toys, but today they are thought to have probably had a ritual function, to make offerings and libations.
