Description

Large blade of banded brown flint. It is retouched laterally and distally and in its shape it resembles a dagger that was used to cut meat and also as a sickle. The proximal part has some small nicks that may be related to its possible hafting. The flint is undoubtedly of foregin origin and may come from two possible sources: Provence and the Ebro Valley. These types of blades were removed by applying pressure with a lever. It was found during the excavations carried out in various megaliths in Alt Epordà by Pere Bosch Gimpera and a young Lluís Pericot in 1920.
